Numbers Explode at Yachting Queensland Coaching Camps!

A total enrolment of 104 youth sailors attended three Yachting Queensland coaching camps during June.  The camps held at Bundaberg and Mooloolaba featured National and Olympic coach Martin Watson.  The record attendance matched the response following the camp, with 80% of sailors indicating they will attend the next Yachting Queensland camp at Southport in September.

Yachting Queensland Courses on Now!

Instructor Course 
A Two day course for anyone with the desire to instruct in Yachting Australia Courses including Powerboat, Yacht Cruising, Motor Cruising and Get Into Small Boat Sailing.

2005 Clearance Regulations for Whales
Help protect our whales! The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority has released whale clearance requirements for Queensland skippers.


Brisbane Grammar Go to Nationals

Queensland Representatives Brisbane Grammar School are competing in the Australian Schools Teams Racing Championships at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, Western Australia.  Ten schools from six states will competing in the July 4 – 9.  Brisbane Grammar are confident they will improve their 6th placing at the 2004 event. Dinghy Winter Series Climax at Southport

The South East Queensland Dinghy Series will climax at Southport Yacht Club over July 30/ 31.  Over 85 boats competed at Mooloolaba Yacht Club last month.  Make sure you come and see the series champions crowned.  For more information phone SYC Sailing Squadron on 5537 7030.

The Boat Yard of the Future

An environmentally friendly boat yard of the future will be unveiled in Yeppoon on July 16.  Capricornia Cruising Yacht Club is dedicated to reducing their impact on the environment.  The innovative design boasts a range of features including chemical and water run off control.  For more information on the launch email Denise at CCYC celeste23@bigpond.com.
