
 
Yachting Queensland Junior / Youth Sailing Camp
 
The Yachting Queensland Junior and Youth Camp will start tomorrow at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. All dinghy classes are invited with youth classes strongly encouraged.
 
There has been a slight change to the coaching line up for the camp:
Day One:          Mark Tonner-Joyce, Sean Bly, Nathan Outteridge and Lauren Jeffries
Day Two:           Sean Bly, Nathan Outteridge and Lauren Jeffries
Day Three:        Sean Bly, Nathan Outteridge and Lauren Jeffries
 
Defence Force Recruiting are providing a BBQ and Information Session to camp participants.

OAMPS Australian Youth Championships - 2007
Sandy Bay Sailing Club in conjunction with Yachting Tasmania has been named the official host of the OAMPS Australian Youth Championships, which will run from 6th – 10th January 2007.
The Championship is open to competitors in the following events: Laser 4.7 (Girls and Boys), Laser Radial (Girls and Boys), Laser Full Rig (Boys), 420 (Girls, Boys & Mixed), 29’er (Girls, Boys & Mixed), RS:X (Girls and Boys) and the Hobie 16 (Mixed).

IYT Corporate Changes Corporate Name
 
Over the years the company has developed and expanded on an entire range of courses which now include 31 professional deck and engineering courses and 25 recreational courses.
 
Due to these developments, it became obvious that the name International Yachtmaster Training was no longer a true reflection of the company’s services and it was decided to change the name to “International Yacht Training” from Sept 2006.

‘Hookie’ The Green Turtle To Begin New Adventure
 
Hookie’, the green turtle rescued from the Rockpool last week with a fishing hook embedded in his flipper, will begin a new adventure tomorrow as he is released off Magnetic Island.
 
Reef HQ Aquarium Aquarist Paul Groves said ‘Hookie’ had made a great recovery following surgery to remove the hook from his flipper.
 
“Since his dramatic ordeal ‘Hookie’ has been recovering in Reef HQ Aquarium’s Turtle Rehabilitation Centre where he has been dining on squid and gaining strength.
