2. Update: Queensland Olympic Hopefuls
Queensland Olympic Hopefuls Mat Belcher, Nick Behrens, Lauren Jeffries and Rike Zaegelmayer filed a report on their most recent overseas competition and impending training camp.
Since we have been back in Australia for just over a month now and are already training again heavily in preparation for our next two regattas, the Olympic Test Regatta and the 470 World Championships in China, it is time for an update.
After a successful finish to our European tour (1st place for Mat & Nick, 2nd place for Lauren & Rike at Kiel Week, ISAF grade 1 regatta) we had two weeks off to rest, work and catch up with families and friends. We resumed training with a 5 day training camp in Brisbane with the added training partners from Singapore. Despite a windy and very rainy weather forecast the conditions turned out to be quite favourable with light to moderate winds.
