Eight Queensland Sailors To Compete at F18 World Championships

A strong Queensland contingent of eight sailors is set to shake the F18 Catamaran world championships in Holland.  An exciting achievement, this provides a positive indication of the continued growth of catamaran sailing.

With strong support from their local clubs, Humpybong Yacht Club and the Multihull Yacht Club of Queensland, the sailors will travel to the event in July.

The team consists of David Elliot, Chris Munroe from the Multihull Yacht Club of Queensland together with Don Dull, Neal Cheeseman, Brad Collett, Lucas McDonald, Russ McDonald and Nev Barnes from the Humpybong Yacht Club at Redcliffe.

Teams Racing In Tasmania

Two teams will represent Queensland at the Shadforths Australian Teams Racing Championships in Tasmania this week.  Beginning on the 22nd of April the tough elements and competition are set to challenge the Queenslanders in the three day event.

Both teams, based at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron at Manly, have arrived in Sandy Bay, Tasmania and are preparing for the event.

The teams consist of:

The Historic Dent to Dunk – April 30

The excitement is building for the relaunch of the historic Dent to Dunk.  Last contested in 1909, vessels of all kinds will be converging on Abel Point Yacht Club on April 30.  With 6 divisions of vessel set to take part in the rally and 2 divisions in the race, this is going to be a major sailing event.
