Southern Region Coaching Clinic Yachting Queensland recently ran a four-day Youth Sailing Coaching Clinic. Reports have praised the camp with particular note to the level of coaching received by participants. Elite coaches, Martin Watson and Dayne Sharp attended the camp and said that the skill level of participants was excellent and are eager to come back next year. Yachting Queensland would like to say a special thanks to Diane Dagge and Patrick Hayes for volunteering over the camp, we hear the BBQ was cooked to perfection. Yachting Queensland would also like to mention that Kathy Starkey supported the camp as an observer. As a local coach Kathy attended the camp to build on her knowledge. Yachting Queensland love to see this enthusiasm and welcome local coaches to join in the future. Due to low numbers of participants on the camp, the camp had to be heavily subsidised by Yachting Queensland. |
