Yachting Queensland Website
Yachting Queensland has unveiled our new website at www.qld.yachting.org.au This website is very user friendly with interactive searches and links to all affiliated Queensland Clubs and Classes and Yachting Australia. You can search for a local training centre or catch up on the latest news around the state. All clubs and classes are invited to send any news articles on their recent events to office@qldyachting.org.au. These articles will be added to the site on a daily basis. Also we would like to have all Notice of Races from around the State available for interested participants to download.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting Presentation was held last Friday night 12th November and was one of the largest turnouts of recent years. Thank you to all members for coming, it was our first chance to welcome you to our new home in Manly.

A big thank you to all Class Associations and Clubs for their 2003-04 award nominations, which contributed to one of the closest voting margins in years. By nominating members, Class Associations and Clubs show nominees that their efforts have been noticed. We hope that your continued support of the Yachting Queensland Annual Awards ensures more and more members are recognised each year for their contribution to the sport and the boating community.

Yachting Queensland Youth Sailing Camp
Yachting Queensland would like to invite all youth 420, 470, Laser Radial, 29er and National / International Youth Classes to attend the Yachting Queensland Youth Sailing Camp. Yachting Australia elite coaches, Martin Watson and Dayne Sharp will be in attendance. Class coaches are also encouraged to attend.
Date: Thursday 9th - Sunday 12th December 2004
Venue: Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron
Cost: $135 per participant

Yachting Queensland Risk Management Workshops
Just a brief outline on what's to come in 2005! Yachting Queensland has invited Vicky Roofayel, Risk Management Consultant, to run a series of Risk Management workshops for Yachting Queensland members. These free workshops are designed to follow on each month building information and knowledge as participants attend each of the four sessions. Dates have yet to be confirmed but a list of workshops are as follows:
February 2005 - Risk Education
March 2004 - Audit Training
June 2005 - Risk Redemption and Removal
August 2005 - Volunteer Risk Removal
Courses
Clubs interested in running Yachting Queensland / Yachting Australia courses in Race Management, Safety Boat Endorsement or other, please contact the Yachting Queensland office.
NCAS Level 2 coaching course is scheduled for April 2005 in Adelaide. Please contact Carly Gray at Yachting Australia to register your interest.
International Rating Certificate (IRC)
To obtain an IRC please contact Yachting Queensland to arrange measurement. The process can take time to arrange so boat owners are encouraged to apply well in advance of races.
